Communicating climate change scenarios

Senses Project

Scenarios are an important tool to both address and prevent climate change. Visualisations also allow stakeholders outside the science community to understand and work with them. The Senses project not only bridged the gap between stakeholders and scientists but also between experts on global and local climate issues. The product of the project is a toolkit that explains various aspects with the help of different Learn modules or provides Explore modules for free exploration of the data. The modules were developed individually in close coöperation with designers from Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (most notably Fidel Thomet, Francesca Morini, Nadia Zeissig and Boris Müller) , global climate modellers from PIK and IIASA, and local climate experts from SEI and WUR.
